SECRETS TO CLEAR HEALTHY LOOKING SKIN
Getting clear healthy looking skin is something I have worked VERY hard for and for this reason my skincare routine is something I swear by. So heres my dirty little secret on how to get clear flawless looking skin:
Step 1: Clean with the right product for your skin type.
If you have acne prone skin like me (Yippie!) then I highly recommend using an oil free cleanser. I have two I am crazy over: one is Societe’s AHA Exfoliating Cleanser and the other is Pur Minerals The Clear Clarifying Cleanser. I like to switch up between the two every now and then because I feel it works best for my problematic skin.
I wash my face twice a day, once in the morning when I wake up and once at the end of the day. I am obsessed with my Mia 2 Clarisonic and I find it works best to use it at the end of the day when I have the most to wash off. In order to not over wash my face (seriously I have OCD when it comes to clean skin) I wait until after hot yoga for my first wash. So instead of washing it before I go to class, I wash it the second I get out of class. If you are practicing any exercise of some sort be sure to wash your face as soon as you are done to get rid of the dirt and bacteria as soon as possible.
Always wash with warm water and after you have rinsed well splash your face off with cold water. This will just help close up the opened pores and prevent little bacterias from getting back in.
Step 2: Always moisturize even if your skin isn’t necessarily dry.
My next step is using a clarifying prep solution by Societe and then moisturizing. It has been a challange to find a balance between moisturizing without getting too oily. Even though my skin isn’t dry all over it is still important to provide moisture.
I ADORE Pur Minerals Tinted Moisturizer for all over my face because it gives a bit of glow and SPF protection without being too oily which is perfect for summertime.
I also like to give a little extra care under my eyes with Nars Hydrating under eye lotion or Pur Minerals Soak It Up intense Hydrating Moisturizier. Thiz lotion can also be used for problematic dry patches which I am known to get as well. How lucky am I? Acne prone, oily, but also dry skin! Sounds impossible but thankfully it is manageable with good skin care products.
Step 3: MUD MASK!
Come on, who doesn’t love a mud mask, some cucumbers and a hydrating beverage? Dirty Girl Face Mask by Pur Minerals is one word: AMAZING. I like to mud mask my face once a week to help get it back to its normal balance.
If there is one thing you get from this whole post, this mask is it! It is UNREAL. I usually leave it on for about 15 minutes, this gives me enough time to enjoy a cup of tea while it is working its magic. Your skin will feel smooth, hydrated and undeniably clean. It actually feels like you just received a facial and that is worth writing home about.
