BOHEMIAN BABY SHOWER FOR OUR LITTLE GIRL

The thought of having a baby shower for our first child seemed like only a distant thought for as long as I can remember.  Every single baby is a miracle and deserves to be celebrated, but after infertility, there is something extra meaningful about celebrating a life on it’s way.  I truly feared I would never have a child of my own.  I feared there would never be tiny feet piddling on the hardwood floor, a little human to have birthday parties for, or take to the park on warm sunny days or make breakfast for every morning. It’s the simple celebrations in life we often take for granted and it’s easy to forget how meaningful they are until sometimes it’s too late.  I never want to take a single step in this process of becoming a mother for granted.  I sincerely never knew I would be so blessed to have motherhood as part of my reality.  

To me this was more than just the gathering of all my favourite gals in one room to shower baby with gifts and love.  It was to celebrate this miraculous life we never knew would be ours.  So many people came together to make this dream become a reality. I seriously couldn’t feel any more grateful.  I literally couldn’t stop crying the moment I walked in because I was absolutely blown away. I’ve included many photos because I just wasn’t able to choose but I hope you love them.  This was a day I will never forget. 

Every single person who contributed to this celebration made me feel so special and loved and I’m so grateful I get to welcome our baby girl into a world full of so many people who love her already.  I would love for you to take a second to take a peak at each one of them and what they contributed to one of the best days of my life.  They each made this day beyond special and everything I could have dreamed of and more.

Of course my girlfriends and family members who all helped in planning and bringing it to life. 

My girlfriend Simone, who has a serious place in my little heart.  I met her at a retreat I had attended and felt an instant connection with her right away.  She got me, and I got her.  I swear she started planning my baby shower well before baby girl was ever conceived because she knew for certainty my miracle was on it’s way. I was in awe of how she just took control and together with the love and support of my amazing friends and family made this beautiful day come to life.  Her passion to create and her talent in doing so is admirable.  The way she would light up with excitement talking about things just melted my little heart. So if you’re planning a party or anything and need some help, don’t tell her, but I’m sending you her way.  I promise you, she is your gal.  

As humble as she is, I keep telling her now is right about the perfect time she brings her talent to share with the world (go find her at @simone.lynn).  She is also the exact same days pregnant as me and did so much work, is she crazy?  I just had to say thank you, because how she made me feel during this whole process was very special and she is literally is one of the most talented people I have ever met.  When I was feeling so not prepared she found me the perfect location, vendors, ideas, and brought it all to life making it more than I could have ever dreamed of while removing all of the stress from me.  Her attention to the smallest details and making sure it was the perfect reflection of me was just beyond my comprehension.

Orange Trunk Vintage Styling and Rentals: The breathtaking decor details were brought to you by Orange Trunk.  I was absolutely blown away by the vintage pieces they incorporated and literally had to stand back to take it all in.  Everything from the unbelievable photo booth, to the cake stands and dessert table touches, to the tiny details on the mantel were from Orange Trunk.  They literally have everything you would need for any type of event/party and will make your life a lot more beautiful (not to mention less stressful).   I can’t wait to use them for future events/parties, their inventory is amazing.

Filly Boo Maternity: The gorgeous bohemian styled dress I am wearing is from Filly Boo and I couldn’t have felt any more maternal/bohemian.  So excited to use it again for more maternity pics and when baby arrives.  

Wild About Flowers: All of the gorgeous florals and floral crowns are from my absolute favourite flower shop here in Calgary, Wild About Flowers.  Shyla has everything you’ll ever need and can make any occasion so special.  I am so grateful to have her extremely talented self in our lives.  If you haven’t been into her flower shop you MUST go in.  So breathtaking.  

@luvsomesugarandslice: The amazing bohemian styled cookies (teepees, fawns, dreamcatchers and feathers) were created by this remarkably skilled human.  I have to be honest, the cookies actually brought tears to my eyes.  Such a delicate touch and a perfect reflection of myself.  Tim and I both can’t wait to order more for all of baby girls celebrations.

The Italian Farmhouse: This venue could NOT have been any more perfect for me. Anthropologie decor everywhere, chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and seriously the most amazing Italian food I have ever eaten–basically me in a nutshell.  Everyone kept raving about how amazing their meals were (I know mine sure was!) and I cannot wait to go back sometime very, very soon.  

Macs & Custard: The king of macaroons! I’ve never heard so many people say, “I don’t usually like Macaroons but these are the most amazing ones I have ever tasted in my whole entire life”.  Apparently, they are that amazing and I definitely think I am missing out.  If you live in Alberta, he is your guy.   

Sugar Cube: The adorable gourmet cotton candy was provided by The Sugar Cube.  They literally will make all of your sweet dreams come true! They have the cutest little truck that can come to any of your events (wedding, birthday party etc.) or can set up the most darling candy booths.  Such a sweet little touch and I’m so grateful to have had them part of my day.

Minted: Invites and Prints by Minted.  They have the most amazing selection and the little fawn details couldn’t have been any more me.  

Knot Garden Designs: The gorgeous bohemian macrame in the photo booth was created by Knot Garden Designs.  I think I need one of these in my life permanently.  So gorgeous.

House of Hale:  The stunning lace teepee was created by House of Hale and it’s seriously the most beautiful thing ever.

Our moms were friends and pregnant with us together and we were born exactly 6 months apart and have been besties ever since.  Here we are pregnant together and baby girl and her baby are going to be exactly 6 months apart and they will have no choice but to be besties either..(haha).
