A FOR ATHENS
The last time I had gone to Greece I did not really get the chance to explore Athens so this time around I knew it was a must. Climbing to the top of the Acropolis was outstanding. I remember learning about it in grade 6 so when I finally saw it, it was pretty exciting. We stayed in a hotel called A for Athens (so typical of my culture) and it had a little rooftop cafe that had the perfect view of the acropolis. We really enjoyed drinking our morning coffees with such a remarkable view. Every night around 2 am we would wonder down this abandoned street to get souvlakis and the guy who worked the stall would always make me something extra special. It was fun explaining to Greek people why I eat the way I do. It was a lot like the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding, they always said, “Well if you don’t eat chicken, I’ll make you beef.” This guy understood my needs.
